GPT Image 2.5 came out on September 8, 2026 in two versions: Flare, the fast default, and Sunburst, slower and built for detail and editing.
Sunburst and Flare are first and second for text to image on Artificial Analysis, and Sunburst is first for image editing.
GPT Image 2.5 is on Staglight, in both versions, Flare and Sunburst, at the same price as GPT Image 2. GPT Image 2 stays too: it ranks 3 to 4 on the same text-to-image board and makes every Script Runner storyboard picture.
